Croatia’s Borna Coric has been an absolute stud in Davis Cup action this season. He has clinched both of Croatia’s ties, playing a massive role in helping the nation get to the semifinals for the first time since 2009, but the 19-year-old is carrying a knee injury into this weekend’s tie with France and doesn’t seem confident ahead of his looming matchup with Richard Gasquet.

More Davis Cup: Murray to Face Del Potro in First Rubber at Glasgow

"My preparations for the tie have been less than ideal because my knee flared up after the Olympic Games in Rio,” Coric said, according to DavisCup.com. “I made the most of the last few days and we will see how it goes. I was in two minds whether to play at all but it’s the Davis Cup semifinal and I just had to take the risk."

Coric says that despite the injury concerns, he’s looking forward to battling it out with France’s Gasquet.

“I would have preferred to play second on the opening day but I am still looking forward to the clash with Gasquet,” he said. “I have never played against him so I have some homework to do in order to come up with the right game-plan.”

France also has its injury concerns ahead of the tie, as Gael Monfils and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga have been ruled out. But Lucas Pouille and Gasquet are both inside the Top 20 and plan to put of plenty of resistance against Coric and Marin Cilic.

France also boasts the world’s top-ranked doubles in Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut. The pair will face Ivan Dodig and Marin Draganja.
