Ross Hutchins, who announced his retirement earlier this month, will take the position as Vice President of Player Relations as announced by the ATP World Tour on Tuesday.
As a player, Hutchins won five ATP World Tour titles in doubles and reached two quarterfinals at Grand Slams. He missed the entire 2013 season after being diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma, but made a return to competition this year. Shortly before announcing his retirement, he reached the mixed doubles semifinals at the US Open with Yung-jan Chan. Hutchins also served as the Tournament Director of the Aegon Championships at Queen's Club this year.
“It’s a great honour to join the ATP as Vice President, Player Relations," Hutchins said in a statement. "With my playing career only recently behind me, I’ve always known that I wanted to remain in professional tennis after retiring as a player. Over the course of the past decade, I established a strong rapport with many players as contemporaries, and I’m now looking forward to working with them in this new capacity. I couldn’t be more excited to get started in my new role."
Hutchins will begin his new role on October 1st.
