Just nine months after returning to tennis after a complete recovery from Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Ross Hutchins has announced his retirement from tennis at the age of 29.

Hutchins was diagnosed with the disease in 2012, and missed the entire 2013 season before making his cancer-free return to tennis this year.
Hutchins won five ATP titles, and just recently reached the mixed doubles semifinals at the US Open.
"It is with a heavy heart that today I announce my retirement from Professional Tennis,” Hutchins said in a statement on the LTA’s website. “After much deliberation I feel it is the right time for me to stop playing professional sport and pursue new goals as I enter the next phase of my career. I feel strong and healthy and I look forward to moving onto the next chapter of my life.”
Hutchins, who reached a career-high of No. 26 in the world in doubles, was named the tournament director at London’s Queen’s Club in March.
