A lingering foot injury has forced Emma Raducanu to step out of Hong Kong.

The 21-year-old Raducanu withdrew from the Hong Kong Open today.

Raducanu continues recovery from ligament damage to her foot that prompted her retirement from the Korea Open quarterfinals last month after dropping the opening set to Daria Kasatkina.

"I'm sorry to say that I will not be able to play in Hong Kong next week. Whilst my foot is making good progress, I need a little more time before I am match fit," Raducanu posted on social media. "I hope to be able to come back and play this tournament in the future."

The 2021 US Open champion Raducanu has been limited to just three completed matches since her run to the Washington, DC quarterfinals in July.
