France’s Arthur Fils has been a juggernaut at the ATP 500 level this year, and it has earned the 20-year-old a hefty holiday bonus.
Fils, who has won ATP 500 titles in Hamburg (red clay) and Tokyo (outdoor hard) will take home an additional $615,000 for finishing atop the 2024 ATP 500 bonus pool.
The tour alots $1,340,000 to the five best-performing players at ATP 500 events to provide incentive for them to compete. Italy’s Jannik Sinner is currently in second place, but he could be passed by Alex de Minaur this weekend.
Second place earns an additional $310,000, third place takes $205,000, fourth place takes home $130,000 and fifth nets $80,000.
Daniil Medvedev won the prize last year.
20th-ranked Fils has won his last 13 matches at the ATP 500 level arter defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas in Vienna today 7-6(5), 6-3. He will face Ben Shelton for a spot in the final at the Erste Bank Open.
Fils matched his biggest win of career over world No.4 Alexander Zverev to capture the 2024 Hamburg title, then saved a championship point in all-French final to defeat compatriot Ugo Humbert in the Tokyo final.
The Frenchman has won eight of his last nine matches against Top 20 players, and holds a 35-24 record overall.
