The ITF, ATP and Kosmos Tennis today announced an unprecedented Davis Cup partnership starting in 2023.

The Davis Cup Finals and Qualifying ties now become an official part of the 2023 ATP calendar, contested in weeks 5, 37 and 47 with increased promotion across ATP channels. The Davis Cup Finals will offer $15 million in prize money in 2023.

"Our focus is always on creating the best possible experience for our fans and players," ATP Chairman Andrea Gaudenzi said. "Delivering compelling international team competitions that dovetail with the year-round calendar and continue to innovate is a vital part of that.

"The Davis Cup has an incredibly rich history and we're excited to see this important new alliance drive the event forward from 2023."

In recent years, both organizations and players expressed concern over the Davis Cup Finals and ATP Cup competition occurring within weeks of each other. Given the ATP Cup isn't on the calendar in 2023, the 122-year-old Davis Cup competition should benefit from the new partnership.

"This announcement heralds an important new alliance between the ITF, Kosmos and ATP, which further strengthens the importance of team competition and Davis Cup's unique role in elite men's professional tennis," ITF President David Haggerty said. "Part of the Olympic qualification pathway, Davis Cup is the largest annual men's team competition in sport and the sole men's team competition in the pro calendar where teams are officially selected by their nation."
