The 16-time Grand Slam champion said he hopes the Big Four will be remembered for helping to popularize the sport and for being good people.
Nadal, who split the four Grand Slam championships with Federer this season, said he hopes there's more to come from the esteemed group as well.
"Our career is not over," Nadal told the media in Beijing. "Is obvious that we have been in the top of this sport for so many years. But the only important thing that hopefully the people will remember is a part of the history of our sport, that was a good moment to keep promoting our sport and to keep bringing our sport to the next level of communication and interest around the world.
"That's important thing. At the same time is important that the people remember us as good persons."
