Kyrgios was suspended or eight weeks on October 17, after he failed to give his best effort and argued with spectators during a loss in Shanghai. He was sanctioned for “''conduct contrary to the integrity of the game',” but the ATP said the ban would be reduced if he entered "a plan of care under the direction of a sports psychologist or an equivalent plan approved by the ATP."
"Nick has taken up the care plan on offer to him from the ATP. The details and contents of the plan are strictly confidential," the ATP said, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
According the the Herald, Australia's world No.13 will be allowed to compete again from the week beginning on November 7.
The move appears to indicate a willingness to change by Kyrgios. The ban-shortening doesn’t not appear to the motivation as the Aussie will not play again until next year.
