Johanna Konta is celebrating her Top 10 debut today, as the British No. 1 becomes the first woman from Great Britain to achieve the feat since Jo Durie in 1984.

She began the season at No. 47 in the world, And started the 2015 season at No. 150.

Konta, 25, became the first British woman to reach the final of a Premier Mandatory event at last week’s China Open, where she fell to Agnieszka Radwanska in the final. But the runner-up appearances pushes Konta up five spots to No. 9 in the rankings.

It’s been an incredible season for Konta. She’s claimed 43 tour-level victories including seven wins over the Top 10. She also became the first British woman to reach the semifinals of a major in 33 years.

Konta is just the fourth woman from country to ever crack the Top 10, and she moved into No. 8 in the Road to Singapore standings as a result of her efforts.

Also making rankings news was 21-year-old Madison Keys, who nudged up two spots to career-high No. 7 after her semifinal appearance at Beijing, and China’s Zhang Shuai, who makes her Top 30 debut at No.27. Zhang is up more than a 100 spots from her 2015 year-end ranking of 186.
