Iva Majoli Returns in Moscow WTA Doubles

Former Roland Garros champion Iva Majoli is scheduled to play doubles at the upcoming Kremlin Cup in Moscow, Russia.

WTA: Pavlyuchenkova Captures Linz Title

The Croatian great accepted a wildcard berth into the draw along with her partner Russia's Anastasia Bukhanko. They will play the seventh seeded team of Gabriela Dabrowski and Raluca Olaru in the first round.

Majoli is best known for having won the 1997 French Open.

In the final, she upset the top seed and favorite Martina Hingis 6-4, 6-2 in what turned out to be Hingis' only loss at a Grand Slam that year. Roland Garros was Majoli's first and only major title.

“The French Open has always been my favorite tournament, so to win that was amazing," Majoli told WTA.com last year at a legends event in Singapore.

In her 13-year career, Majoli won a total of eight singles titles along with reaching a career high of No. 4 in the world. She retired from the sport in 2004.

Since retiring, the now 38-year-old Majoli has served as the Croatian Fed Cup coach and briefly coached rising talent Donna Vekic.
