It was the first ATP doubles win for the brothers together.
The world No. 1 looked even more excited than his 20-year-old youngest brother, who is ranked 1,504 places behind Novak in the ATP singles rankings.
“It was exciting,” Novak said. “I’m very happy for my brother, that he was able to experience such atmosphere. He never did that before. He never experienced such great crowd. He never played on a big stadium.
He is considering if he wants to continue or not. I’m actually glad we get a chance to play before he makes any decision.”
The degree of difficulty will rise significantly as the Djokovic brothers are scheduled to play former Wimbledon doubles champions Vasek Pospisil and Jack Sock next.
