World No.12 Svetlana Kuznetsova underwent what she calls “minor” surgery on her wrist, and expects to be fully fit for the start of the 2018 tennis season.
“I had to do a small surgery in my left wrist which causing me some pin the last few month,” the 32-year-old posted on Instagram. “It went very well and I should be completely ok and ready to go in few weeks with the hope for a great 2018 season.”
Kuznetsova finished the season with a 32-17 record. She reached the final at Indian Wells and went 11-4 at majors with a quarterfinal at Wimbledon.
She only played two matches after suffering a second-round loss at the U.S. Open, losing to Alizé Cornet in Wuhan and Lara Arruabarrena in Beijing.
