Angelique Kerber credits improved focus and commitment to fitness as keys to her superb 2016 season.

The 28-year-old German made history as the oldest woman to debut at world No. 1 after winning the Australian Open and US Open championships.

The top-seeded Kerber's loss to Dominika Cibulkova in the WTA Finals championship match drew nearly one million television viewers in Germany, Forbes reports.

Kerber returns to the small screen starring in this new commercial for her racquet sponsor, Yonex and its new VCore SV racquet.


"The Australian Open is most definitely the highlight of my career—a dream come true," Kerber said during in a break from shooting the commercial. "I experience so much in those two weeks—that match point in the first round and my final against Serena. It was such a special experience for me and I'll never forget it."
