Henri Kontinen and John Peers claimed their first Masters 1000 title in Paris, defeating Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert, 6-4, 3-6, 10-6.

Kontinen and Peers, spending their first season together as a team, reached the Shanghai final last month but fell to Jack Sock and John Isner in the final.

“We've just been really building all year, and I believed it was just a matter of time until we really got in sync and started to actually back it up match after match,” Peers said, according to ATPWorldTour.com. “We've been able to get some really good matches here and there throughout the year but it's actually been a challenge for us to back it up every day. I think we're starting to learn how to do that as a team and also as individuals so it's been really good to be able to do that.”

Both teams will be a part of next week’s ATP World Tour Finals in London. Herbert and Mahut will be seeded No.1, while Kontinen and Peers will be seeded No.7.
