Nearly 20 years later, Brooke Shields is revealing all about her famous life including her marriage to tennis superstar Andre Agassi.

In her new book, "There Was a Little Girl: The Real Story of My Mother and Me", Shields recounts her troubled relationship with her mother (and manager) who passed away two years ago. She also goes into detail about her failed marriage in the 1990s with Agassi.

Shields met Agassi in 1993 and later married him in 1997. But she was surprised by Agassi's revelation to her in a phone call that he was addicted to drugs.

"He explained to me that for the first whole part of our relationship, he had been addicted to crystal meth," Shields writes in her book as first reported by People Magazine.

Shields also recounts how Agassi told her he was completely bald at the time and wore hairpieces during matches. This revelation was first made public in Agassi's candid biography "Open" published several years ago.

Though Shields supported Agassi despite his confession to her and offered to go into couples therapy with him, their marriage ended soon after.

Shields credits Agassi with helping her first break free from her controlling mother who was also an alcoholic.

"He is a devoted person, sweet and good but he had this demon, this affliction. But the other side, and what makes this so hard, is the way he welcomed me and my mother and anybody I loved. He is a really good human being."

Agassi, who later married tennis great Steffi Graf, has not yet commented on Shields' new book.
