Stefanos Tsitsipas and Mark Philippoussis have parted ways after a productive partnership that saw the Greek reach his first major final at the Australian Open in January.
“Thank for the opportunity of being a part of your team,” The Aussie wrote in Instagram. “It was a great ride and experience, I’m proud of what we achieved together in the short amount of time we had. I wish you health, happiness and success for your future, on and off the court!”
Philippoussis, a former Wimbledon and US Open finalist, joined Tsitsipas’ coaching entourage in 2022 and was thought of as a big influence, helping Tsitsipas sharpen his net game as well as his backhand slice and return, as he closed the gap on longtime nemesis Daniil Medvedev with two consecutive victories at Cincinnati and the ATP Finals.
