Borna Coric has had surgery on his right shoulder and will miss time. The Croatian made the announcement today on social media.
“I am currently in New York as I had surgery on my right shoulder yesterday. I have been dealing with shoulder pain for some time now and despite trying a whole range of recovery techniques it was clear a more permanent solution was needed,” he said.
Coric has played nine matches in 2021, but has been off the tour since March. He went 6-3 with a semifinal with Rotterdam.
“After talking to leading doctors together with my team, I decided the best option was to have surgery,” he said. “The operation went extremely well, I am very thankful to the HSS Sports Medicine Institute team and especially doctor David Altchek. Now it is time to recover and work hard to be back on court soon.”
