Maria Sharapova has pulled the plug on Roland Garros due to the shoulder injury that has kept her off tour since January.
The Russian had a small procedure done on her right shoulder in February and promptly pulled out of Indian Wells and Miami saying she needed a few weeks to heal.
Sharapova a two-time champion no doubt hates to miss the entirety of the clay season—she has been fantastic on clay in the past, going 145-33 lifetime with an 11-2 record in finals on the surface.
“Sometimes the right decisions aren’t always the easiest ones,” Sharapova wrote on her Instagram story. “I really miss you Paris, until next year.”
