Jo-Wilfried Tsonga announced today that he has still not recovered from his recent minor knee surgery and he will be forced to miss this year’s French Open.
“Despite all my efforts to return in time, I am unfortunately forced to pull out of Lyon and Roland Garros,” Tsonga wrote in French on social media.” I am obviously disappointed but at the same time I want to come to Lyon as an ambassador and to Roland Garros as a spectator.”
Tsonga had a “small operation” on his left knee (believed to be meniscus related) in early April. He is a two-time Roland Garros semifinalist and has not missed playing in Paris since 2008.
