Nadal: No Doubt Djokovic Will Bounce Back

A reeling Novak Djokovic has failed to reach a quarterfinal in six tournaments this season.

Kyle Edmund toppled Djokovic in the Madrid second round as the 10th-seeded Serbian dropped to 6-6 on the season.

World No. 1 Rafael Nadal followed Djokovic onto Manolo Santana Stadium Court and swept Gael Monfils, stretching his streak to 48 straight sets won on clay.

Nadal did not see much of Djokovic's defeat, but the 10-time Roland Garros champion is convinced his rival will bounce back because the 30-year-old Serbian understands ups and downs are part of the job.

"I was doing my things doing the tapings and warm-up so I didn't see much to have a real opinion," Nadal told the media in Madrid. "But that's tennis. Things are difficult and nothing is easy in our sport and I really believe he knows that, I know that and everybody knows how difficult it is to stay there all the time.

"What Novak did in the sport is amazing. He will continue doing a lot of great things in the future. I don't have any doubt of that."
