Three-time major champion and former World No.1 Andy Murray has added DEUCE tennis app to a portfolio of 30 start-ups in his expanding business investment portfolio. According to BusinessCloud.Co.Uk, The Scot has invested undisclosed amounts as part of his strategic partnership with crowdfunding platform Seedrs, which has seen him invest into 30 companies.
The Scotsman likes DEUCE for more than its financial potential—he loves the idea of more people playing tennis across Great Britain.
"The team behind Deuce are really impressive and they have a working knowledge of tennis and tennis clubs in this country so they really understand the issues and the potential,” he said. "Tennis is such a great sport with so many benefits - physical, mental and social, but we simply don’t have enough people playing in this country.”
Deuce now on target to have more than 70 facilities in and around London providing court times by the end of July. The free to download app is expected to go live the week before Wimbledon, according to Insider.Co.Uk.
"We need to fill empty courts with people playing more often and Deuce uses today’s technology to do this in a simple, welcoming and affordable way."
