Gael Monfils sure knows how to celebrate milestones.

La Monf topped Dustin Brown's behind-the-back flick with this casual-cool tweener that seemed to surprise the Jamaican-born trick-shot artist in the first career clash between thirtysomething shotmakers.



It was all part of Monfils' 400th career victory—a 6-4, 7-5, 6-0 sweep of Brown—that sent the 15th-seeded Frenchman into a second-round meeting with Thiago Monteiro, who defeated French wild card Alexandre Muller.

The 2008 semifinalist will contest the second round for the 10th time in 11 Roland Garros appearances.

Monfils occupies sixth place on the list for most Tour-level wins by a Frenchman behind Yannick Noah (482 wins), Fabrice Santoro (470), Richard Gasquet (469), Gilles Simon (415) and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (410).
