Just over a month after officially pairing with Spanish clay-court legend Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario, the partnership is now “on hold.”

Wozniacki’s spokesperson Mikkel Nielsen told BT Sport that “The working together is on pause. They worked together in the spring for a couple of weeks. But Sanchez has backed out of the agreement because she couldn't get traveling to tournaments and her family life to fit together."

He added: "They're still in constant contact with each other. The hope is that a more permanent working relationship will start from the beginning of next year."

Wozniacki has shown improved form on clay this spring, reaching the Stuttgart final and then the quarterfinals in Madrid last week.
