Andy Murray has no regrets telling Lukas Rosol exactly how he felt during their contentious Munich quarterfinal.
Video: Murray Tells Rosol "Everybody Hates You" in Munich
Rosol bumped shoulders with Murray during a changeover in the first set. That upset Murray who later told Rosol before another point, "No one likes you on the tour. Everybody hates you."
Murray went on to win the match in three sets and later won his semifinal to advance into Sunday's final.
"He walked straight into me for no reason," Murray said to press later. "If I walked into someone for no reason I would say sorry. But he did it and then ran to the other end.
"His fitness trainer later apologized. I should not have said what I did but if someone does that and you don't respond, you let them dictate how the match goes. I was told by my father that if you get pushed around then you stick up for yourself."
Rosol went through a similar incident in Bucharest last week in his match versus Guillermo Garcia-Lopez. In that one, Garcia-Lopez refused initially to shake Rosol's hand after he took offense to Rosol being rude and complaining to the umpire that Garcia-Lopez took too long between points.
Murray did speak to Rosol after their match and added, "I have had no problems with him before, but a lot of players say he does those sort of things. It's just silly. It gives more motivation and I told him that in the locker room."
Murray is now into his first ever career clay court final in Munich where he will face Philipp Kohlschreiber.
