After falling to Andy Murray on Friday in Madrid, and subsequently pulling out of this week’s Internazionali BNL D’Italia in Rome, Canada’s No. 1 Milos Raonic has announced he will undergo foot surgery to repair a damaged nerve and could miss the French Open:
Raonic told reporters that he had been suffering from the issue with the foot for seven years, but the situation had only recently become untenable. He started feeling significant pain in Monte-Carlo, and eventually had to retire from his quarterfinal with Tomas Berdych.
He was visibly hobbled during his quarterfinal loss to Andy Murray in Madrid, and lost in straight sets.
