When Caroline Wozniacki announced on Twitter that she got engaged to beau Rory McIlroy on New Year's Eve in Sydney, speculation ran rampant as to when the couple would actually walk down the aisle. They've been tight-lipped on the details since, but early Friday, the Irish Independent quoted an anonymous source as saying that the couple will tie the knot in August, reportedly in New York before the US Open.

"Rory is marrying Caroline in late August," the source told independent.ie. "They've only been engaged a few months, but they're both keen to make it official and are a planning a spectacular day for guests. They're keeping their invite list under wraps for now for security reasons because it includes some A-list superstars from around the world."
Previous reports, including in the UK's Daily Mirror, hinted that the couple's wedding will take place in November, with former US President BIll Clinton on the guest list. The Mirror also quoted another anonymous source as saying that the wedding will take place in New York, as “Rory’s now based in America so they thought it made sense."
For his part, McIlroy seemed to take the rumors in stride, tweeting this on Thursday:
Wozniacki withdrew from Rome this week citing a knee injury but hopes to be ready to compete at Roland Garros, which begins May 25.
