Second Serve - A Tennis Now Blog

Second Serve

Roger Federer and Grigor Dimitrov took to the practice courts on Wednesday at Roland Garros, in preparation for the 2014 French Open which begins Sunday, and Darren Cahill was nice enough to provide tennis fans with a birds-eye view of the legend and his protege at work. Enjoy some raw and resplendent footage of Fed and Grigor playing a practice set, and skip down after the jump to see the pair exchanging volleys during a training session.

Splitsville: Caro and Rory Call it Quits

The highlight of both vids? For us it's either the little ping-pong, rapid-fire exchange at the net in the video below (starts at :27), or Federer's sliding scoop down-the-line passing shot (also in the video below at :40).

Also of note is Federer's down-the-line backhand return winner in the video above (:10).

As for Grigor, he seemed to defer to the maestro in these clips, but he was no doubt taking notes...
