The human highlight film has struck again! Watch as Grigor Dimitrov goes showtime against Tomas Berdych with a diving stab volley to set up a match point against the strapping Czech in the round of 16 at Rome. Did Dimitrov need to dive for the ball, or could he simply have played a shoestring volley to get the same result? Stupid question, right? When in doubt, D-I-V-E!!!!

Stick around to watch the fourth replay to get a feel for just how exquisite this shot is by Dimitrov. And, for the record, we think the dive was the best way for Dimitrov to play this shot—had he hunched over to hit the volley, he likely would not been able to apply the same feathery soft touch to the ball.

Dimitrov, who improved to 3-1 lifetime against Berdych, will take on Tommy Haas in Friday's quarterfinals at Rome. Dimitrov is into his second career Masters quarterfinal, and both have come on clay. Last year, the Bulgarian reached the quarterfinals at Monte-Carlo before falling to Rafael Nadal in three sets.
