Another supercoach has entered the ranks. Two-time major champion and former World No.1 Marat Safin will officially join Andrey Rublev’s team, per Russian media outlet Bolshe.

Fernando Vicente will keep the reins as Rublev’s full-time coach, with Safin helping the team in more of an advisor role. Safin has already embraced a mentoring role with Rublev, and the World No.9 has often credited the Hall of Famer with helping him through difficult personal and professional moments.

According to reports, Safin will work with Rublev during the clay season, joining him in Monte-Carlo.

Safin, who won the US Open in 2000 and the Australian Open in 2005, is a 15-time ATP title winner.

Ninth-ranked Rublev has won 17 titles, but has never been beyond the quarterfinals at a major. The 27-year-old Moscow native is currently on a three-match losing streak after claiming the title in Doha in early February.
