Halep: No Limits

Simona Halep returned to Indian Wells with the thrill of the fight in her eyes and ears.

The BNP Paribas Open empowers players to choose their own walk-on theme song as boxers do before fights.

The second-seeded Romanian walked onto Stadium 2 as the Survivor classic "Eye of the Tiger" blasted over the sound system.

Then Halep landed heavy blows defeating Barbora Strycova, 6-2, 6-4, to reach a third-round match with qualifier Kateryna Kozlova.

In celebration of International Women's Day, Halep was asked what she wants young girls to see when they see her.

The reigning Roland Garros champion said she hopes girls will see her as an inspiration to lead life without limits.

"Well, I think they can see and they can believe that a woman can do anything in this world," Halep told the media in Indian Wells. "And now we are more independent, and we can achieve anything. We can be a successful woman and, you know, there is no limit.

"So we don't have to think that only men can do these big things. We also, women, can do anything in this world. So I think they could take from my career this one: That if you never give up, you can achieve anything."

The self-described "Rocky" fan said she chose "Eye of the Tiger" because it's motivational music.

"I like the songs before the matches," Halep said. "Sometimes I listen to it and motivates me. So when they ask me, I chose it, and today I was really smiling in my head when I heard it. It was nice, nice moment."
