Kyrgios Receives Houston Wild Card

Kyrgios opened 2018 by winning the title on home soil in Brisbane, his fourth career ATP title. Kyrgios defeated Fabio Fognini in Miami on Monday to raise his record to 9-2 this season.

In 2016, Kyrgios won a career-best 39 matches and three ATP titles. He backed that up with 31 wins last season and a pair of runner-up finishes, including at the ATP Masters 1000 event in Cincinnati.

The 22-year-old Kyrgios is the sixth player in the 2018 US Clay field aged 23 or younger. Kyrgios joins a US Clay field that includes four other players currently in the Top 20 of the ATP rankings—Kevin Anderson (No. 8), Jack Sock (No. 11), Sam Querrey (No. 14) and John Isner (No. 17).
