Daria Kasatkina carries a simple mission statement through life: "Dream and do it."
Kasatkina is daring to dream the (nearly) impossible dream.
Del Potro: Tennis Misses These Guys
The 20-year-old Russian revealed her ultimate tennis goal: Win the Golden Slam.
"My tennis dreams? Already answered these questions 500 times," Kasatkina said with a smile. "But I wish to win four Grand Slams and Olympic Games in one year.
"As Steffi Graf did once."
In 1988, Steffi Graf swept Gabriela Sabatini in the Olympic gold-medal match becoming the first player—male or female—to capture the Golden Slam and hold all four major titles and the Olympic gold medal simultaneously.
The 11th-ranked Russian said she dreams of Grand Slams, but does not have a ranking-specific goal.
"Actually, I don't think much about the ranking," Kasatkina said. "Because as I said already before, if you got level of the game, the ranking will come automatically. So it doesn't really matter you are 10, 11, or 12. If you are playing on the high level, everything will come."
