Milos Raonic and Daniel Nestor are both unavailable for this weekend’s tie in Guadeloupe, France.
Nestor, the world's No. 12 doubles player, will miss due to an undisclosed family matter, according to TSN.
Raonic has not been able to compete since falling at the Australian Open to Andy Murray in the semifinals.
"I am deeply saddened to not be able to join my team for the Davis Cup tie in Guadeloupe,” said Raonic in a statement released by Tennis Canada. “Davis Cup has always been and will continue to be a priority in my schedule. My body at this moment does not allow me to compete as the muscular tear I sustained in Australia has not completely healed."
The Canadians will be led by Vasek Pospisil and Frank Dancevic as they set to face the deep and talented French team, which will be captained by former Roland Garros champion Yannick Noah for the first time.
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Richard Gasquet, Gael Monfils and Gilles Simon have been nominated to the French side.
The tie will take place on outdoor red clay. The French have defeated the Canadians in their two previous meetings, the last a 4-1 victory in 2012.
The French are fourth on the all-time Davis Cup title list with nine. They were runners-up in 2014 2010 and 2002, but have not won a title since 2001.
