It seems unlikely Rafael Nadal will ever need to apply for an actual job, but in case he does, he's about to receive something extra to put under the education section.

The University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) has announced it will award Nadal an honorary doctorate in recognition of his athletic achievements and the values he has upheld during his career.

Nadal was born and still lives in Manacor on the island of Mallorca, which is one of the Balearic Islands. In its statement announcing the degree, UIB said Nadal's commitment to excellence makes him "one of the greatest athletes of all time."

Nadal is in California this week in preparation to defend his 2013 title at Indian Wells.
