It hasn't been a good month for professional tennis in Las Vegas.

Two weeks ago, the WTT announced the dissolution of the Las Vegas Neon franchise before it even played one match, and on Thursday, the USTA Women's Pro Circuit announced that the Party Rock Open won't be returning to the city this September.

Musician and tennis fan Redfoo, formerly of the group LMFAO, opted out as a sponsor of the event, which was the death knell of the event. Redfoo is the boyfriend of WTA top five player Victoria Azarenka.

This continues a trend of Las Vegas no longer being a stop for pro tennis. The Tennis Channel Open, an ATP event, left the city after three years in 2008. A tour for players over 35, The Powershares Tour, played two years in the city, but opted out because of low attendance numbers.
