World No.1 Jannik Sinner and World No.2 Carlos Alcaraz are set to begin their respective seasons on the grass next week.

Sinner, in his first week as the ATP’s No.1, will take his place in the Halle 500 draw, against Tallon Griekspoor of the Netherlands in the first round.


Griekspoor, who lost to Sebastian Korda in the semifinals at ‘s-Hertogenbosch on Saturday, was a champion last year at the ATP Tournament on his home soil. He has won 10 of his last 13 matches on grass. Sinner leads the pair’s head-to-head 4-0, including a three-set win at Miami this spring.

The Italian, 33-3 on the season, owns a 12-8 lifetime record on grass.

Here is Sinner’s projected path to a 14th ATP title in Germany, if the seeds hold.

Alcaraz at Queen’s Club

2023 Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz is ready for a return to the grass next week as well. The 21-year-old three-time major champion is the top seed at Queen’s Club, and will face Argentina’s Francisco Cerundolo in the opening round at the ATP 500 tournament.

Alcaraz 16-2 lifetime on grass with two titles, could face hard-hitting southpaw Jack Draper in his next match.
