Novak Djokovic is unlikely to play a tune-up tournament before launching his Wimbledon defense.
Goran Ivanišević, Djokovic's coach, told Serbian publication Sportklub, the world No. 1 is ready to move on from his Roland Garros quarterfinal loss to Rafael Nadal.
Nadal: Will Play Wimbledon if I Don't Need Injections
Djokovic, who will be supplanted as world No. 1 by Daniil Medvedev next week, plans to travel to London train on the grass for his Wimbledon defense, his coach said.
"Probably nothing [before Wimbledon]. We will see more, but now is the time to recover mentally," Ivanišević told Sportklub. "As I said before, people like Novak are geniuses with a different way of thinking - they need a little time to probably return nothing and put some things together in their head, but it still takes time.
"Then that's it, and he has experienced disappointments before, I know he will be ready for the grass."
Skipping grass-court tune-up tournaments is nothing new for Djokovic, who has won five of his six Wimbledon championships without playing a grass-court warm-up tournament.
Three-time defending Wimbledon champion Djokovic last played a grass-court tune-up event at the 2018 Queen's Club where he reached the final, falling to Marin Cilic.
