In his brief career, Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti has become known as a shotmaking stylist. The 19-year-old has mega tools in his tennis toolbox, and he’s not afraid to pull them out.
That became apparent on Saturday in Paris when Musetti cracked a behind-the-back backhand winner to steal a point from Marco Cecchinato on Court 7. Later in the match he delivered more amazing stickwork.
Musetti, who is making his Grand Slam debut at Roland-Garros, is currently level with the former French Open semi-finalist at a set apiece. He is one of five teenagers still alive in the Roland-Garros singles draw, along with Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, Coco Gauff an Marta Kostyuk.
