Taylor Fritz's Roland Garros came to a painful end.

The American No. 1 was wheeled off the court in a wheelchair after injuring his knee while bowing to Germany's Dominik Koepfer.

The bad news is Fritz suffered a torn meniscus that will require surgery. The good news is Fritz is hopeful he can recover in time to play Wimbledon, which begins on June 28th.

"After getting scanned there's good news and bad news," Fritz posted on Twitter. "Bad news being I tore my meniscus and need surgery. The good news being that of all the knee tears this will be the quickest and easiest recovery.

"My recovery will be 100% and there's a good chance I will be back in time for Wimbledon."
