Bulgarian Brothers Suspended, Facing Corruption Charges


Bulgarian brothers Karen Khachatyran and Yuri Khachatyran have been provisionally suspended from the pro circuit by independent anti-corruption hearing officer Richard McLaren, the Tennis Integrity Unit announced.

The suspension went into effect June 15th.

The suspensions relate to investigations undertaken by the Tennis Integrity Unit into alleged breaches of the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program.

The brothers are ineligible to compete in or attend any sanctioned event organised or recognized by the governing bodies of the sport.

The 24-year old Karen 
Khachatyran is currently ranked 3021 in ITF World Tennis singles while 19-year-old Yuri Khachatyran is ranked 3126.
