Young Britons and veteran standouts lead the list of Wimbledon wild cards.
The Championships announced initial wild cards for singles and doubles. Eight more singles wild cards will be awarded for Wimbledon, which begins on July 1st.

British players Harriet Dart, who partnered Venus Williams in Birmingham doubles this week, Katie Swan and Heather Watson have been awarded main-draw wild cards for the ladies' singles draw.
Britons Jay Clarke, Paul Jubb and James Ward received men's main-draw wild cards along with 2006 semifinalist Marcos Baghdatis.

Lleyton Hewitt remains the last man to win Wimbledon other than the Big Four of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray.
The 38-year-old Hewitt, beat David Nalbandian in the 2002 Wimbledon final, was given a doubles wild card alongside compatriot Jordan Thompson.
