Serena Williams has hit a return winner off of John McEnroe's snub.
Over the weekend, McEnroe told NPR if the 23-time Grand Slam champion played on the ATP Tour, "she'd be be like 700 in the world."
McEnroe: Serena Would Be No. 700 on ATP Tour
Serena answered with a simple message for McEnroe: Respect me and my privacy.
The former No. 1, who believes he would beat Serena in a battle of the sexes exhibition, also told NPR "on a given day, Serena could beat some (ATP) players."
"That doesn't mean I don't think Serena is an incredible player. I do, but the reality of what would happen would be I think something that perhaps it'd be a little higher, perhaps it'd be a little lower," McEnroe told NPR. "And on a given day, Serena could beat some players."
Given McEnroe is doing interviews to promote his new book, But Seriously, something tells us the Hall of Famer may serve up a response to Serena's tweets.
