World No. 3 Simona Halep has announced the end of her pairing with coach Victor Ionita. The Romanian, a semifinalist at Wimbledon last year, will move forward with Daniel Dobre and Darren Cahill as her coaches during the fortnight. Halep hired Ionita last November after parting ways with Wim Fissette, who coached her in 2014.

Halep hasn’t spoken publicly yet about the decision, or how long she intends to go with Dobre and Cahill as a coaching tandem.
Word on Twitter is that Ionita’s contract expired and the pair mutually decided not to renew (though we cannot comfirm or deny).
Halep will undoubtedly be taking questions on the subject when she talks to press at Wimbledon, so stay tuned for more details.
