Video: Dustin Brown and Rafael Nadal Tumble on the Same Point in Halle
Dustin Brown
played some sparkling tennis to upset
Rafael Nadal
in Halle on Thursday afternoon, but the most entertaining point of the day was far from resplendent as it saw Brown wipe out on the slick Halle grass after taking flight to execute a flying smash.

Nadal Stunned in Halle Opener by Dustin Brown
Watch as Brown’s smash flies right into Rafael Nadal’s racquet, at which point the Spaniard flicks a lob winner while falling down himself.
Nadal won the point, and ended up doing his patented fist pump from the seat of his points (somewhat comically, don't you think?), while Brown got up, dusted the grass clippings off, and checked the soles of his shoes.
Have you ever seen those action movies where two characters end up shooting each other at the same time in a gunfight? Well, this is tennis’s version of that…
Brown would keep his firm footing for most of the match, as this highlight reel below clearly demonstrates. It may be in black and white, but that doesn’t stop Brown’s explosive shotmaking from jumping off the screen.
This gorgeous drop shot-lob combo from brown, in captured from TV mode on YouTube, is pretty amazing also:
Brown, who has already posted far more tour-level wins in 2014 (9) than he registered all last season, will face Philipp Kohlschreiber in the quarterfinals on Friday in Halle.
