Four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka will join a star-studded field at the Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic in San Jose, which will be held from August 1-7.
Osaka, currently ranked 38, is 12-5 on the season. She joins a field that already includes six Top-10 players: No. 3 Maria Sakkari, No. 4 Paula Badosa, No. 5 ranked Ons Jabeur, No.6 Aryna Sabalenka, No. 8 Danielle Collins and No. 9 Garbiñe Muguruza.
The six top-10 players are the most since 2002 when the event also hosted six top-10 players at its previous location in Stanford, California.
The impressive group of players also includes 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina, 2022 Roland-Garros runner-up Coco Gauff, 2017 Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic champion Madison Keys, World No. 22 Amanda Anisimov and 2019 US Open Champion Bianca Andreescu.
Osaka will be playing for the first time since Roland-Garros. She missed the grass season due to an Achilles injury.
At her last hard court event, she reached the final in Miami, before falling to Iga Swiatek.
