Andy Murray has taken another step in the direction of the top of tennis on Monday, as the Scot rises two spots into the Top-50 for the first time since June of 2018.

Murray, who reached the quarterfinals at Newport last week before losing to Alexander Bublik, rises to No.50 in the world. He still has a way to go this summer to reach his stated goal of being seeded at this year’s US Open.

Speaking of being seeded at the Open, it is looking likely that Maxime Cressy will do just that. The American rises to No.33 in the rankings after claiming his maiden ATP title at Newport on Sunday. He’s up eight spots.

It’s a similar situation for Argentina’s Francisco Cerundolo, who also claimed his maiden title, in Bastad. The 23-year-old climbs nine spots to No.30, while Bastad runner-up Sebastian Baez jumps two spots to a career-high 32.
