Roger's the Goat, Says Kyrgios

Nick Kyrgios thinks Roger Federer is the greatest player of all-time and the 21-year-old Aussie says the whole of the men’s locker room is typically left speechless when Federer is around. “When I see Roger, everyone sort of just looks at Roger,” Kyrgios told reporters on Sunday after his four-set win over Feliciano Lopez. “Roger has an aura about him. I think he's the greatest player of all time. I just watch him. I don't say anything. It's the same with Novak.”

Kyrgios was responding to a reporter who asked him if Andy Murray was more approachable in the locker room than Federer, Djokovic and Rafael Nadal. The Aussie has struck up a friendship with Murray, and the pair connect on a more casual level. “Andy, I don't know, it's different,” Kyrgios said.

Asked how the pair came to be friends, Kyrgios joked: “I actually don't know. It was love at first sight.”

The pair will meet for the fifth time on Monday at Wimbledon. Murray has taken all four meetings, dropping just one set in the process, but they have never met on grass.

Kyrgios said on Sunday that with Novak Djokovic out of the tournament there is a burgeoning sense of belief among the rank and file. "I think a lot of people in the locker room now believe they can win it," he said. "If the stars align and they're playing well, there's a lot of people that can go get it."

When asked if he felt he was one of them, he simply replied, "Yeah, I mean, I rarely walk into a tournament and don't think I can win it."
