Federer and Wawrinka will join forces when Switzerland hosts Netherlands in the September 18-20th Davis Cup World Playoffs, Swiss Tennis announced in a tweet today. The venue and surface for the tie has not yet been announced.
Last November, the pair led Switzerland to its first Davis Cup championship in history with a 3-1 triumph over host France on the red clay of Lille. Without either Grand Slam champion on the squad, the Swiss lost to Belgium, 3-2, in the World Group first round tie last March.
Swiss fans should have plenty to cheer about: In addition to the champions' homecoming, Switzerland is playing for its first victory over the Dutch on home soil since 1983 when Heinz Gunthardt and Roland Stadler led the Swiss to a 3-1 win.
Here's a reminder of the magic Roger and Stan can create together.
