After suffering a straight-sets loss to Tommy Robredo on Friday in Vladivostok, 17-year-old Andrey Rublev made some headlines while talking with media.

According to Tennisworldusa.org, Rublev took issue with some of the statements that Robredo made before the tie began, so Rublev hit back with the following after his loss to Robredo:
"I knew Robredo, the eve of the match, said that Spain would defeat Russia without problems,” he said. “I can assure him within a year I will beat Tommy without problems."
Rublev didn’t get to face Robredo again over the weekend, but he did manage to take out Pablo Andujar in straight sets to complete a dramatic comeback for the Russian side.
The loss sends the Spanish team spiraling further out of Davis Cup contention, and leaves Russia knocking on the door of the World Group.
