Canada’s No. 1 player has been forced to pull out of his nation’s Davis Cup tie at Belgium next weekend due to injury. Milos Raonic, who had surgery to repair a damaged nerve in his right foot before the French Open, called the injury “recurring” in a statement.

"I'm devastated not to be participating in this tie against Belgium," said Raonic in a statement. "Due to my recurring injury, I am not able to play tennis for the next few weeks.”
He added: "My goal right now is to get healthy as fast as possible and get back to playing tennis as soon as I can. I have been with this team awhile and we have come a long way together. I know that they can win this tie and get us back into the semifinals."
Vasek Pospisil will lead the Canadians into the tie between which takes place at the Sportpark Krokodiel in Middelkerke (Ostend) on 17-19 July.
